Mr. Eric Elmer Johnson, Jr., 90, of Santee, and most formerly of Dubuque, Iowa, died peacefully Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Magnolias of Santee, with his loving family at his side.

Born on July 25, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois, he was a son of the late Eric E. Johnson and Louise Dudek Johnson. He retired from the John Deere Company as Supervisor of Drafting and Photography, after 36 years of service. Mr. Johnson was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Dubuque, Iowa, a Shriner and a Mason. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served his Country faithfully as a Sergeant during World War II.
Survivors are his wife, Ruth Vogel Johnson of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Rod Dieringer of Santee, SC; grandchildren, Douglas Curtis of Holly Springs, NC, and Erica Hall of Durham, NC; great-grandchildren; Amelia Hall and Bradley Curtis; and half-sisters, Sandra Hope and Betty Tamm, both of Atlanta, GA. Mr. Johnson was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey V. Johnson.
