Zelda Wise Hoyle

Zelda Wise Hoyle, 84, of Orangeburg died Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Hilton Head Hospital. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Toni Pipkins officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 22, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home in Orangeburg and at other times at the residence, 1087 Eutaw Street, Orangeburg.

Mrs. Hoyle was born in St. Matthews, a daughter of the late John Shelton and Mary Herlong Wise. She graduated from St. Matthews High School and worked for Belk-Hudson, retiring with over 45 years of service. A member of First Baptist Church Orangeburg, Mrs. Hoyle was a dedicated pre-school Sunday School teacher for over 55 years. She was predeceased by an infant son, Dennis Joseph Hoyle, Jr., a brother, Troy Wise and a sister, Alma W. Jackson.

Survivors include a daughter, Janice Hoyle (Rick) Carr of Hilton Head; 2 special granddaughters, Claire Marie Carr of Boston, MA and Paige C. (Robbie) Buckner of Lancaster, SC.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 1240 Russell Street, Orangeburg, SC 29115 or Central Church of Hilton Head, 975 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head, SC 29928.
